Mixtape: Marky – Journey to Markyland, USA: Rest Stop 3 | @Markyland
Ok, if you’ve been like us, you’ve been hastily anticipating the drop of this project, the third of a trilogy brought to you by iLLVibes fave Marky (by the way, hit the link to hear his hot, new single “Where She From” that’s available for streaming on his myspace page). You’ve already heard the sentimentally motivated and acutely introspective “Rocket Man”, with the underlying Elton-John sample, that finds Marky saying his goodbyes to many as he proceeds on his journey to stardom, while “Bulletproof” (taken from the La Roux song) is an electrically-charged and high-paced back-and-forth chase with an intentionally-resistant girl who has no other route but to give in. And then we finally heard the homage-to-hip-hop “Purple” that outlines Marky’s sentiments about troubles in his life, including his dealings with his imprisoned cousin. To further encourage you to peep this project, we’ve also streamed two other faves from the project, and after the jump, you can hit the link to download! By the way, this is Winnin’ Streak music!!! And just in case you missed out on the first two installments, be sure to visit Marky’s Bandcamp Page.

Nas delivers two colorful and informative verses on this. I’m getting pumped for the solo album now. The official remix came out yesterday and this version by Oddz N Endz; they had made this after being contacted to do it but didn’t make the final cut. Which version do you ...continue

Not sure about the origins of this track but it's fire. It's pretty much an alternate version of Nas's America. The new chorus is hella creep but fits right in with the beat and Nasir Jones's poetry (yeah I'm not calling it rap). "Lipstick from Marilyn Monroe Blew a death ...continue

Last night's game was epic, the stars came to play with Kobe battling Nash the whole game. Ron Artest was messing up during the game only shooting 1-8 until the end where he put up a Kobe airball for the game-winning shot!!!! Crazyness!!! After his interview with Craig Sager he ...continue

Trilogies are not always ideal. Just think of the way Spiderman ended, with a hapless Spidey whose infatuation with love and quick-to-the-streets dancing destroyed our views of the superhero we had come to love in the first film. (Seriously, when you saw his choreography scene, you can't tell me you ...continue

Let's get it! "Distant Relatives" is really causing a stir with amazing tracks come back to back. I was a little skeptic in the beginning but these cuts are really growing on me. Crucial visuals for the track "As We Enter", simple video but effective (just black beanies and flashlights ...continue

Are you ready yet? "Distant Relatives" drops May 18th. I'm sure the project will be nice but honestly I would have preferred another solo album from Nasir Jones #noshots I just like Nas on that New York hip hop tip with some chill beats rather than over reggae. I'm not ...continue

We are still in catch-up mode and yesterday was a crazy day on the viral tip. Music Monday really lived up to its name. So much amazing music dropped and there are four cuts I'd like to highlight. After the jump find some bangers from Charles "Sonic" Hamilton, B.O.B., Gil ...continue

Playing catchup on the blog tip is not fun but I definitely can't let a golden Nas cut go unnoticed. I'm not the biggest fan of DJ Khaled mostly because of his obnoxious yelling every other 10 seconds but this track is straight right here with the soulful John Legend ...continue
