I’m never heard of DECEPTIKONZ (except for the obvious), but we’re huge fans of the New Zealander David Dallas, who provides a much more different sound on this track. Apparently, the “Dkonz are a four man Polynesian hip hop crew from South Auckland, one of NZ’s biggest hip hop groups. Some of the crew may be familiar to the train-spotters; Mareko (first verse) is a former NZ freestyle champ who recorded his solo album White Sunday in NYC in 2003 with a host of guests including The Beatnuts, Tha Liks, Inspectah Deck, Roc Raida, Scram Jones, etc. Devolo (third verse) featured on Dave’s single “Indulge Me” last year, and Savage (5th verse) had some success in the US in 2008/2009 on the back of his single “Swing” which featured on the movie Knocked Up.”
