KICKS: Air Jordan VI (White/Blue/Varsity Red)

As if there has not been an abundance of Jordan VI’s just poised to raid your pockets of your hard earned greenbacks, another pair are set to release in the upcoming months. Tumbled white leather will serve as the primary color, with a nice accent of blue lining the bottom. Red accents include a Jumpman logo on the back, diagonal designing along the bottom, along with the material on the inside tongue. I have yet to get a pair of VI’s and this might be there colorway to change all that. Expect a release window of either Holiday 2010 or early 2011. Two more photos after the jump.
Lauryn Hill “Doo Wop”

This is definitely a day to listen to artists that we all will be listening to come Rock The Bells. Lauryn Hill has always been the most complete female artist in Hip-Hop who can rap and sing. Doo Wop is most certainly a vibrant and refreshing track, even though it dropped over 11 years ago. Enjoy the nostalgia!!
Inspectah Deck Live

So last year I was working with another website (which was great but not even close to as great as ILLVIBES-DMV.COM). I shot video of the Rock The House concert and Inspectah Deck killed it with a freestyle verse. JUST LISTEN!!!!
Wu-Tang Clan “Triumph” Live

Getting ready for the Rock The Bells concert like we are? That’s great because the entire Wu-Tang Clan performed Triumph the other night with ODB’s son doing his verse. It’s going to be a monumental concert and I hope you readers have tried to score those extra tickets we are offering. If you didn’t know, just search but enjoy the video.
Video: Shad – Yaa I Get It (Oddisee Remix) | @shadkmusic @oddisee

Canadian rapper Shad released a hype visual earlier this year for “Yaa I Get It”, the first single off his upcoming album TSOL. The recently dropped remix produced by the DMV’s own Oddisee—an iLLVibes favorite known for spreading soul in the the smallest of track nooks and crannies—is here matched with the original video. The combination is near seamless. The minimalism of Oddisee’s beat superbly complements Shad’s witty yet intellectual lyricism. Props to okp.
Drake “What If I Kissed You”

Listening to this, you can’t help but understand how multifaceted an artist Drake is. He can literally make an entire R&B CD for his second CD and still would retain his fanbase. It’s like Kanye‘s ability to gar far left with 808 and Heartbreaks and still have the world wanting more after Power. Drake isn’t done with the R&B music and we should have more soon.
David Clark – Twice (Remix) 2.5
Here’s a nostalgia-provoking remix of the Little Dragon hit “Twice”. DMV native David Clark turns the subtle electro-soul vibe of the original into a driving sound, charging it with powerful drums and cyclical electric vibrations. Listen for the smoothly nuanced guitar riffs.

GI ft Jadakiss, French Montana, Beanie Sigel “Overcame It All”

G.I. is a rapper from Lancaster, PA that has been making the rounds around the NYC area. For this single, he recruits heavyweights from Philly and New York City. Even though Jadakiss steals the show IMO, it’s French Montana’s line of “I’ve never seen a brotha get rich off of a 9 to 5″ in the midst of delivery that held my attention.
Ras Kass Double CD Arrives

10 years ago if you asked me for my top 5 rappers of all time, Ras Kass would have been in there at all times and at some points in my life, #1. Lyrically, he can do it as witty as any other rapper ever but conscious hip-hop doesn’t always move records like the business needs you to. Coming out with A.D.I.D.A.S., I’m waiting for some songs to leak to see where he’s coming from on this album.
The Ting Tings – Hands | @TheTings
Never heard of The Ting Tings but I love their sound, hella fun to listen to. Their song “Hands” is pretty much the perfect jam for a Friday. I know you guys are looking forward to the weekend. “Clap your hands if you’re working too hard” (APPLAUSE)

TICKET CONTEST FOR ROCK THE BELLS 2010
If you've been keeping up with anything digital, you have already realized the single greatest bit of music news (no, not that Sisqo is coming out with a thong line) – but the imminent return of Lauryn Hill back to the scene. Yes, the Fugees made a surprising return not too long ago, but it left a bit of a ... continue
LAUGHING MATTERS
MV: Soulja Boy ft. Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka – Shawt Bus Shawty
Okay, so I know that this has been out for a few weeks now, but that does not take away from the fact that its a funny video. The video is almost spot on in terms of copying the real life artists that are being portrayed.. Souljaboy comes up with a dumb idea to turn into a song, a scarily crazy instrumental is laid down, Gucci Mane speaks another language unknown to humans, and Waka Flocka is hyper from beginning to end. Anyway, I hope that these artists watch videos like these and put a little bit more lyrical game ... continue
